Launch of the IPA
PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
Independent Pub Alliance (IPA) launches to give stronger voice to UK pubs and small hospitality businesses
After many months of planning, collaboration and hard work from its founders, the Independent Pub Alliance (IPA) is proud to announce its official launch today, Friday 20th March.
The IPA is a newly formed collective bringing together independent publicans, hospitality workers, industry researchers and supporters who share a growing concern that UK pubs and small hospitality businesses are increasingly being placed at a structural disadvantage. Members believe that current economic conditions, taxation policy and wider structural pressures are making it harder for independent venues, often at the heart of their communities, to survive and thrive.
The organisation has been created to provide a united platform for advocacy, collaboration and practical support across the sector. By working together, the IPA aims to help secure the long term sustainability of independent pubs and small hospitality operators, while championing their cultural, economic and social importance within towns and villages across the United Kingdom.
As part of its launch, the IPA will introduce a range of exclusive, industry-specific benefits and discounts for members, designed to help reduce operating costs and improve business resilience in a challenging trading environment.
Membership of the Independent Pub Alliance is completely free, reflecting the group’s commitment to accessibility and inclusivity across the sector. The founders believe that the more people who join, the stronger and more influential the collective voice of independent hospitality businesses will become.
A spokesperson for the IPA said:
“Independent pubs are far more than places to eat and drink. They are social hubs, employers, cultural landmarks and vital contributors to the UK’s identity and local economies. The Independent Pub Alliance has been formed to ensure the people who run and work in these venues have a stronger voice, better support and a platform to influence meaningful change. The more members we have, the louder and more effective that voice becomes.”
The IPA is encouraging publicans, hospitality professionals, researchers and supporters from across the country to join the movement and help shape the future of the independent pub sector.
Membership is now live — visit www.theipauk.org to join, find out more and get access to those unique benefits.
